Education

We (Abby and Mike) are Sophomore Biology and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology Majors,respectively, at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). We have GPA's of 3.2 and 3.8, respectively. Both of us are very interested in the sciences, and have worked hard to get where we are now.

Experience

We've always helped others who were struggling throughout our years in high school. We want to be tutors because we simply love helping other students, it will help us academically as students, and we think it would be a great summer job, and may continue throughout our years at UMD. At UMD, we have completed Calculus I and II, Biology I and II with labs, General Chemistry I and II with labs, Psychology, College Writing, Interpersonal Communications, Health and Wellness, Organic Chemistry I and II with labs, Quantitative Analysis with lab, and Genetics. We did very well in these courses. As tutors, we believe in power in numbers. We think it would be beneficial to have two tutors per student. Neither of us have tutoring experience, but we both love to teach others, are very patient, and never give up. Mike taught many other students during our freshman year at UMD, and all of our grades improved due to his help. I (Abby) was a teacher's assistant for classes in high school and every day I was glad to help students when they struggled-especially in math courses. We both scored well on the ACT, I (Abby) scored a 24 while Mike scored a 25.

Hobbies

Mike and I both love to have fun. We enjoy movies (who doesn't?), good food, volunteering, reading, and Mike is your typical gamer. Luckily, it never gets in the way of his studies! Mike is involved in intramural sports, including curling and softball, but still loves every other sport out there. I enjoy more of a calmer lifestyle. I love going on walks, taking care of my puppy, and hanging out with a few friends. If you are interested, the hourly rate does cover both of us.
